Meet the Owner

Operating heavy equipment and working in construction has been a part of Matt’s life for generations, and today he is proud to work alongside the third generation of construction workers in the Vigil family. From a young age, Matt spent time visiting commercial and civil job sites with his father and uncles, where he developed an early passion for equipment and hard work.

At 17, Matt joined the United States Marine Corps, during his five-year enlistment, Matt learned the value of structure and discipline, and furthermore developed his work ethic that continue to guide Grading Solutions Excavation today. Following his military service, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while working full-time in telecommunications. Shortly after, Matt and his family relocated to Texas, where he worked for BNSF Railway for six years as a Signalman.

In 2017, Matt founded Grading Solutions Excavation, beginning with a single skid steer and taking on small projects after work. With the support of family and friends, the company steadily grew from residential driveways and site work into larger commercial and civil construction projects. The experience gained working closely with homeowners and maintaining a strong attention to detail helped shape the company’s approach as it expanded. Today, Grading Solutions Excavation is built around a small, dedicated, carefully selected team that takes pride in delivering quality work and meeting client expectations.

Matt and his wife, Keiko, have two grown daughters, Airi and Maika, and enjoy traveling to spend time with them. Outside of work, Matt enjoys traveling and studying self-development.
